Pressure Sensors from KYOCERA AVX Components (Dresden)
Our pressure sensors are noted for their robustness and are specially adapted to the specific measuring task, detecting pressures in liquid and gaseous media e.g. water, oil, fuel, exhaust gas or in compressed air systems. Bespoke designs mean that each user can get the product ideally suited for their needs.
The basic design of our pressure sensors is still the screw-in pressure sensor. Thread sizes from M10 to M18 have been produced to date. Special thread sizes and designs, such as UNC or NPT threads, can also be implemented. Depending on the requirements of the substrate, screw-in housings may be made of dissimilar metals (e.g., brass or stainless steel).
For pressure measuring cells, we rely mostly on piezo resistive ceramic pressure cells manufactured in house. Monolithic pressure cells offer several advantages. Due to the very wide media compatibility of the Al2O3 ceramic construction, expensive sensor protection measures such as separation membranes or special coatings can be dispensed with. The unsurpassed elasticity gives our pressure sensors a very long life with several million pressure cycles. Screw-in pressure sensors are crowned by integrated plugs, which in turn are available in various designs.

Last generation pressure sensors are absolutely solid and have excellent long-lived characteristics. They win by their modular-building-concept and can be integrated into customer systems easily.
KYOCERA AVX offers a great number of innovative and robust solutions for measuring pressure in different media. Due to flexible configurations, our pressure sensor modules can easily be integrated into customer-specific systems.
Particularly the high requirements in high-performance gearbox applications necessitate permanent monitoring of different media. Cost-optimised solutions with high vibration resistance are in great demand and a wide range of basic technologies enables us to optimally adjust the sensor characteristics to the respective customer application.

Once the maximum soot particle loading has been reached, a controlled combustion process occurs to regenerate the diesel particle filter. KYOCERA AVX provides sophisticated sensor concepts both for the initiation as well as the monitoring of this process. Apart from securing the pure functionality in these demanding ambient conditions, we have succeeded in generating comprehensive optimisations, which offer decisive advantages vis-a-vis conventional systems:

Differential pressure sensor records the loading condition of the particle filter and initiates the regeneration process.
Unlike conventional designs in which the exhaust gas is also conducted on the passive side of the differential pressure measuring cell, i.e. on the electronic side of the measuring cell, we work with a two-cell system, in which only the passive side of the cells comes into contact with exhaust gas. Apart from long term stability, this principle in addition makes it possible to output the exhaust back pressure as well as the differential pressure.
